Kramer vs. Kramer (Robert Benton). 2012.

De un día para otro, Ted debe enfrentar la separación de su esposa Joanna, además de asumir la responsabilidad del cuidado de su pequeño hijo. Comienza a descuidar su trabajo, tiene que enfrentar nuevos horarios, debe asumir nuevas responsabilidades. Pero todos estos cambios también le posibilitan tener una nueva relación con su hijo, quién sufre por la separación con su madre. Kramer vs. Kramer es una película ganadora de cuatro premios Oscar, uno para mejor director y otro para Meryl Streep como actriz secundaria en el rol de Joanna, la madre que después de un tiempo, decide reclamar la custodia de su hijo, mejor película del año, y mejor actor principal, para Dustin Hoffman.

Las actuaciones son fabulosas. Me sorprendió la del pequeño niño, interpretado por Justin Henry (quién luego haría un pequeño papel en la película sixteen candels junto a Molly Rinwald) y que fue nominado como mejor actor de reparto a la edad de 8 años. También la actuación de Dustin Hoffman, que es Ted, el atribulado padre que después deberá enfrentar a Joanna en el juicio por la custodia de su hijo, es memorable.

From one day to another, Ted must face the separation from his wife Joanna, in addition to assuming the responsibility for the care of their young son. Begins to neglect his work, has to face new schedules and assume new responsibilities. But these changes also allow a new relationship with his son, who suffers for separation from his mother. Kramer vs. Kramer is a film that won three Oscars, one for Best Director and one for Best Supporting Actress Meryl Streep in the role of Joanna, the mother who after a time, decides to seek the custody of his son, best film of the year, and Best Leading Male role, to Dustin Hoffman.

The performances are fabulous. I was surprised at the little boy, played by Justin Henry, (who then do a small part in the film alongside Molly Rinwald “sixteen candels”) that was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the age of 8 years. Also the performance of Dustin Hoffman, who is Ted, the troubled father who must face after Joanna at trial for custody of his son, is memorable.

Could Mountain (Anthony Minghella). 2003.

La búsqueda del ser amado en medio de la adversidad de la guerra civil estadounidense, protagonizada por un soldado que desea regresar a Could Mountain, a los brazos de Ada Monroe, quién lo espera eternamente en una granja empobrecida. Ambos deberán enfrentar una serie de obstáculos, mientras sueñan con la posibilidad lejana de encontrarse. En este camino agudo y agreste, compartirán situaciones límites, siempre con la posibilidad de la desgracia. Inman, el soldado, deberá enfrentar las vicisitudes de un guerrero desertor en medio de la crisis del hambre y la constante moral inquisidora de aquellos que traicionan a la patria. Ada por su lado, deberá hacer frente a los constantes ataques del comisario del pueblo, pero tendrá la compañía de una nueva amiga, Ruby, quién le enseñará a trabajar en aquellas tareas diarias de una granja.

Hermosas tomas de paisajes, un elenco envidiable, un Oscar para la mejor actriz de reparto (Rene Zellweger), hacen de esta historia un buen relato del fallecido, pero prolífico director Anthony Minghella.

Beautiful landscape shots, an enviable cast, an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (Rene Zellweger), make this story a good tale of the deceased, but prolific director Anthony Minghella.

Precious. (Lee Davis). 2009

Pobre, Negra, Mujer, Gorda, se unen en un protagónico que carga con todas las posibles ofensas, discriminaciones y rechazo social. Una joven que a pesar del continuo maltrato de su entorno, sobrevive inmersa en el sueño despierta cargado de belleza, brillo, éxito, cariño y atención, de la que su vida entera carece.

Este film, es un intento de mostrar la belleza a través de la joven “Precious”, a pesar de lo sucio, el estupor, la crudeza y las emociones más sórdidas de la convivencia humana.

“Precious”, es una de esas películas que transporta al espectador por diversos y extremos sentimientos, siempre al borde de apretar el stop y la ansiedad de conocer un desenlace trágico o esperanzador.
